First fan event held in Ho Chi Minh City

More than 300 supporters attended the first official Manchester City fan event hosted in Ho Chi Minh City.

Club Envy was the location as local Blues came together to watch Pep Guardiola’s side’s 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace at a match screening delivered in conjunction with the Club’s regional Affinity Card Partner, SHB.

An opportunity for fans living in the Vietnamese city to connect with and get closer to their favourite club, pre-match activities included a City quiz, the chance to find out more about the Blues’ history, plenty of prize giveaways and performances from local musicians and DJs.

The emphatic result was not the only reason to celebrate, as the landmark occasion also saw Manchester City’s Vietnam Supporters Club receive their commemorative plaque in recognition of their status as an official branch.

“This was an unforgettable night for all of us,” said Chairman, Tri Nguyen.

“We love Manchester City and it was fantastic to have them give us this opportunity to enjoy the game together. I had such an amazing evening and I can’t wait for the next time.”

Nguyen Van Le, Chief Executive Officer of SHB, added: “Over three years of strategic cooperation, in addition to co-branded products, SHB and Manchester City have jointly organised many activities and programs for their customers and fans, which help bring Manchester City closer to their fan community in Vietnam.”
